Open box of BlackBerry 8700C, original 20 year seal, Made in Mexico, extremely genuine

Yesterday afternoon I posted a picture of the 8700 online, then last night a BB collector sent me a fully sealed 8700C for unboxing. It's really so long ago... Sometimes it feels like we're reliving the early years of technology blooming in Vietnam. BB passion leads to creating other technology passions, other connections... BlackBerry 8700 (8700c/g/v versions...) was released in late 2005, early 2006. This is the first BlackBerry line to use Intel chip (PXA901 about 312 MHz), 16 MB RAM, 64 MB internal memory. The device has a 2.6-inch color TFT screen with 320 x 240 resolution, full QWERTY keyboard, side roller, 1100 mAh battery. Supports GSM quad-band, GPRS/EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0, speakerphone, 2.5 mm jack. No camera, no memory card slot.
The strengths at that time were push email, viewing Word/Excel/PDF files, web browsing and calling. The device weighed about 134 g, was nearly 2 cm thick, and had the traditional bar design of BlackBerry at that time. Currently discontinued.

The machine is made in Mexico. Nowadays, Mexican machines or Mexican Bose speakers are stronger than those made in China.

Hardware information

What's in the box?

Here's all the stuff

At that time, not many people could play this full set.

The QWERTY keyboard in this 8700 is almost the best of BlackBerry

The right side has a navigation wheel and back button. A great way to navigate your device. Simple, easy to create emotions. It's not as simple, fast and practical as it is now where you click on whatever you see and click on it.

Assignable feature button, Mini-USB connection port and 2.5mm headphone hole. After the Mini-USB port, humans created Micro-USB to achieve thinner size and higher speed. Then there's USB-C for even higher speeds. But now I'm stuck with this portal.

The protrusion and pressing feeling are still as good and as good as ever

The top of the device includes the power button and the bell on/off button

The bottom edge is simple, without ports.

Holster is a great feature of BlackBerry. It can be a slide-in plastic case like this 8700C or a leather case. It has a magnet so that when the device is slid in or placed, it understands that the device wants to push it into another state such as quickly turning off the screen, switching profiles... Holsters are often designed to be worn on the back to make it easier to take out and use the device. Holster ensures that the user still holds the device and uses it, not like in the current case where the user holds the case and uses the device, not holding the device anymore.

The battery was swollen so I didn't put it in the phone

Opening the lid reveals a simple interior, large SIM slot and information.
