Some new rumors about iPhone 18 Pro

While surfing the news, people started to spread a series of rumors about the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max series and even a folding screen iPhone Ultra expected to launch in the first half of September, then go on sale in the second half of the month. As for the regular version, the lower-end 18e version and the second generation Air series, you have to wait until around March 2027. Reading through the leaked features of the Pro series as of this July, I see a few points that are worth the money but there are also some pitfalls. The point I find most disturbing is the Camera Control button. Apple seems to be simplifying this button by completely eliminating touch and haptic feedback, keeping only pressure sensing. Personally, I think if that's true, it'll be a bit boring because of the loss of the current multi-function swipe gesture. I'd rather just give it up than thunder and lightning.

In return, the device's appearance will change slightly with a smaller Dynamic Island cluster thanks to the Face ID spotlight hidden under the screen. The back of the Ceramic Shield glass where the MagSafe charger is located is also blurred and more seamless instead of the two-tone design like before. In terms of color, they will add the mysterious Dark Cherry color next to Light Blue, Dark Twitter and Silver, and kill Cosmic Orange and Dark Blue.

Regarding hardware, the A20 Pro chip will switch to TSMC's 2nm process, promising better performance and power savings. The screen remains 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches in size but upgraded to LTPO + technology to extend battery life.

In particular, the Pro Max version will be a bit thicker than the previous model to fit a battery that is nearly 10% larger. For me, a slightly thicker device and a longer battery life are completely worth it. The device also uses the third generation C2 modem to support web surfing via 5G satellite when there is no Wi-Fi or mobile signal, and comes with a new N2 connection chip to help optimize bandwidth.

Finally, the 48MP Fusion main camera will have variable aperture to better adjust depth of field. However, because the phone sensor is inherently small due to the size limitation of the device's structure, I think this upgrade doesn't actually make a clear difference or not.
