Ho Chi Minh City Technology Festival focuses on promoting Blockchain and AI
(Dan Tri) - Ho Chi Minh City Technology Festival (Conviction 2026) expands into a forum connecting domestic and international resources, to promote two strategic technology fields of Vietnam: Blockchain and AI.
On January 1, the Digital Technology Industry Law 2025 officially took effect, ending more than a decade of existence in the legal "gray zone" of cryptoassets.

This is the first time Vietnam has issued a comprehensive legal framework to identify, manage and protect digital assets, creating a foundation for the development of Blockchain technology and the digital economy.
In addition, Decision No. 21/2026/QD-TTg dated April 30, 2026 of the Prime Minister included Blockchain and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the National Strategic Technology group. Meanwhile, Resolution No. 05/2025/NQ-CP creates the basis for pilot implementation of the crypto asset market in Vietnam.
These policies are expected to improve national competitiveness, promote innovation and open up development space for the digital economy.
“In the context of digital transformation and artificial intelligence profoundly changing the socio-economy, Ho Chi Minh City is facing a great opportunity to affirm its role as a center of innovation, technology and finance in the region.
We expect Conviction to not only be a technology event, but will become a forum that brings together policymakers, international experts, businesses, investors, startups and the innovation community to share vision, promote cooperation and create new development opportunities," said Mr. Nguyen Quy Hoa, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City Electronics and Communications Association.
Conviction 2026 promises to become a dialogue space between the public and private sectors, where policymakers, businesses, financial institutions, investment funds and the technology community discuss development directions, cooperation opportunities and practical application models of Blockchain and AI.

"Enterprises must be the center of the process of innovation and digital transformation. The State can create institutions, institutes and schools to provide knowledge and human resources, but it is businesses that decide to invest, apply technology and put innovation into practice", Mr. Pham Thai Lai, Director of the Center for Economic Information and Communications of the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), shared.
Conviction 2026 will take place over two days August 14-15, with the message "Real World, Real Movement" (Real Value, Real Action). The event reflects the transition of Blockchain and AI from the experimental stage to real implementation, focusing on models capable of creating value and scaling.
