People waiting to buy iPhone Duo receive bad news
(Dan Tri) - A source close to Foxconn's supply chain said that as of September 17, the rate of finished products in the final assembly of the iPhone Duo was only slightly more than 60%.
According to Apple's current quality standards, the assembly line may need another 6 months to a year to reach stable and optimal performance.

"Foxconn is continuously adjusting equipment, assembly processes and specifications during the large-scale production deployment for iPhone Duo. Suppliers are also waiting to see whether Apple will relax any quality requirements to speed up production," this source revealed.
Worth mentioning, the problems seem to extend beyond final assembly. Jiemian News said that OLED panels for folding screens and hinge components provided by Samsung Display encountered delays and had to change designs. Delays in these components give assemblers less time to fine-tune production lines.
Apple is also said to have tested liquid metal on some hinge parts, but had to reconsider when the iPhone Duo was about to enter mass production. The hinge structure of Apple's first folding screen iPhone includes more than 100 components and has a shell made with 3D printing technology.
In another report, MyDrivers said that one of the equipment processing units asked Apple to choose between prioritizing the rate of finished products or increasing production.

Boosting production line capacity can create more phones for sale on the market. However, the accompanying consequences can cause a higher rate of defective products and increased waste disposal costs.
According to the plan, pre-ordering of iPhone Duo will start from October 16.
In the Vietnamese market, iPhone Duo is offered at a starting price of 65 million VND for the 256GB version. Versions with larger storage capacity such as 512GB, 1TB and 2TB are priced at 71.5 million VND, 84.5 million VND and 104 million VND respectively.
Talking to Dan Tri reporter, a representative of an authorized Apple retail system said there is currently no information about the supply of iPhone Duo in the Vietnamese market during the initial opening period.
