Some people are bored with AI music, others find it new

(Dan Tri) - AI music appears everywhere such as cafes, fashion stores, and passenger cars, causing many listeners to feel headaches and boredom.
Everywhere you go, you see AI music
Every evening after work, Ha Thu (23 years old, Hanoi) often spends about two hours walking on the streets to relax and exercise.
For her, the music playing from cafes and shops is part of the street atmosphere. But recently, instead of familiar songs by singers, she constantly comes across music created with AI.
"If you walk a few hundred meters, you'll hear a song. One day, when you passed three or four shops and cafes, you'd see AI music playing. Just listen to a few sentences and you'll recognize it right away," Ha Thu recounted.

Ha said she herself is not against AI music, but when shops abuse it with such frequency, she begins to feel bored.
Going deeper into the shops, many customers also gradually feel the presence of AI in service spaces.
Minh Ngoc (22 years old, Hanoi) is a person who often chooses a workspace at a coffee shop. However, recently Ngoc noticed that many bars no longer play singer music but instead choose a series of playlists performed by AI.
"There are days when I sit for nearly three hours, almost every song is AI music. Listening continuously makes me feel tired and have a headache," Ngoc shared.

Because she did not want to be exposed to songs performed by AI, she began to prioritize shops that played singers' music or did not play music.
In some unavoidable cases, Ngoc always brings personal headphones to escape the sounds of the shop and comfortably enjoy her favorite music.
Meanwhile, for people exposed to this type of music all day, the feeling of fatigue is even more obvious.
As a waiter at a bar in Hanoi, Hoang Anh (21 years old) said the store recently switched to playing a series of AI songs because it was confused by music copyright regulations.
"I work an eight-hour shift and listen to it every day. At first it was strange, but after a few sessions I just felt creepy because every song was AI voice all day long."

Hoang Anh believes that these songs often have a similar structure, the chorus repeats a lot, and the voice quality is almost unchanged.
"One day I thought the same song was playing over and over again, but it turned out to be three different songs. Not only me, but my friends who worked with me also felt the same way," he recounted.
Many artists spoke up
Notably, in addition to the songs composed and performed by AI, many AI cover versions even attract a larger number of views than the singer's official version.
There are songs that have just been released not long ago, and a series of AI versions have appeared in stores, appeared densely on social networks, and even at major events. Many times it also makes listeners think that the version sung by AI is the official version.

Many Vietnamese artists have begun to speak up when they witness AI products re-singing songs without permission and even blatantly overshadowing the original.
In early June, the song "Kiss Here" by singer VSTRA was used in a music night in a remix version incorporating music created by AI.
This incident happened at the K-Pulse Hanoi 2026 show when Jay Park's performance used an AI music version.

After the reaction from public opinion, the organizers apologized and admitted shortcomings in not verifying and not contacting VSTRA before using.
Previously, the female singer posted a post expressing frustration about having her voice illegally used using AI technology.
Meanwhile, singer Ngo Lan Huong had to face the situation where the song "Sharpening Merit" spread widely on social networks through a version using AI vocals.
Although the song's widespread popularity is a positive sign, the female singer said she disagrees with the use of artificial voices, especially when the AI version also misrepresents the lyrics and posts them on money-making platforms.

"Everyone should stop listening to AI music," the female singer shared, and said that the AI versions have been removed from many platforms to be replaced by the official version performed by her.
The above stories reflect a new reality of the music market. Previously, AI mainly supported mixing or sound processing, but now this technology can create complete songs, simulating the artist's composition style, vocals and processing with increasingly high levels of realism.
From the listener's perspective, AI provides an almost endless source of content at low cost and fast production speed. But that also makes the market "overwhelmed" by songs created according to the same formula, lacking personal and emotional impact.
Not everyone turns away
However, besides the complaints, AI music did not completely encounter negative reactions.
Mr. Van (66 years old, Ninh Binh) said he still recognized the music being played as AI music, but did not feel too uncomfortable when listening.
"Just listen to a few sentences and you'll know the music created by AI. The AI voice sounds completely different from the singer," Mr. Van said.
According to him, current AI music is quite catchy, the melody is easy to listen to, and the lyrics are also familiar. However, the biggest difference is the emotion in the vocals.
"It sounds good, but doesn't have much emotion. Real singers sing with accents and their own soul. AI music is more steady, it's okay to listen to for entertainment," he shared.
However, Mr. Van believes that if you only play it while exercising, walking or listening for fun, AI music is still acceptable.
Thanh Huyen (23 years old) said she noticed AI appearing more and more in many coffee shops. However, for her, this experience created a new feeling compared to before.
"I found some songs with catchy melodies, strange performance styles, and trendy lyrics. Many times I couldn't even distinguish the AI voice," Huyen shared.

She also added that her service experience is not too much affected by AI music because for Huyen, if the song is good, she is still willing to listen.
Just like Huyen, under the songs, many people said they still love and have affection for the songs performed by AI. Many songs also attract millions of views and thousands of compliments.
Some listeners also think that if they just listen for entertainment, they don't care too much about whether the song is performed by humans or AI, as long as the product is of quality and suitable to their preferences.
