Vietnamese people are wary when Apple increases the price of MacBook and iPad


(Dan Tri) - At the end of June, Apple increased prices for a series of its products in the Vietnamese market, including MacBook, Mac mini and iPad. The increase ranges from 15-30% depending on each version.
Talking to Dan Tri reporters, many large retail systems in Vietnam said that sales of MacBook and iPad product lines have slowed down immediately after Apple increased product prices.

“Apple's adjustment to increase the prices of some product lines such as MacBooks and iPads has somewhat impacted the shopping psychology of users, especially among customer groups with fixed budgets such as students or users buying machines for study and work.
When prices increase, customers tend to consider more carefully before paying, compare more between versions or wait for more incentive programs from dealers. Currently, purchasing power for some products has been affected, sales tend to decrease compared to the period of stable prices," a representative of Hoang Ha Mobile shared.
Sharing the same opinion, Minh Tuan Mobile representative also said that Vietnamese users are quite sensitive to price fluctuations. Apple's increase in prices of some MacBook and iPad lines certainly creates certain impacts on the market, especially in the short term when consumers tend to consider more carefully before deciding to purchase.
Worth mentioning, Apple's adjustment of product prices took place right before the back-to-school season. In previous years, the back-to-school season has always been considered a suitable time for users to shop for technology products at preferential prices, especially for student groups.
