New features on iOS 27 beta 2

Recently, I have seen iPhone users starting to talk about the new update. Normally, Beta 2 will be where Apple gathers feedback to fix bugs and add small features before releasing the Public Beta version in July and the official version in September with the new iPhone. I just skimmed through the list of changes and saw many quite practical, experiential points that I think the tech guys on Delicate will be interested in. First, we have to talk about the feature cluster about Siri and AI. I think Apple has been more sophisticated by adding a "Write with Siri" button right above the keyboard in apps like Notes or Messages, instead of forcing users to highlight annoying text like in Beta 1.

In addition, the Siri voice customization feature for models such as iPhone 17 Pro or iPhone Air now has a "Coming Soon" label for Speed and Expression, even though it did not work in the previous version. For those who take photos, Apple's expansion of AI tools in the Photos app for RAW images is a big plus, making post-production more flexible.

An extremely valuable change for those who often text cross-platform is the RCS feature. Now when texting with Android users, you can press and hold to reply to a specific message just like you were using iMessage. The emojis that drop emotions on photos or videos are also displayed properly as visual icons, rather than displaying dry descriptive text like the old system. I appreciate this improvement because it makes the conversation experience between the two operating systems less distanced. Let's try it first and see.

Regarding smart home and system utilities, the Home application now supports remote software updates for Apple TV right in the settings without having to turn on the TV, extremely convenient for lazy people. The error that caused HomeKit accessories such as Philips Hue lights to lose connection in Beta 1 has also been completely fixed. When there is a notification from the security camera, I just need to press and hold to quickly view the video and immediately turn on the nearby lights. App Wallet is preparing to have an Insights section to manage spending and account balance, and the Pass creation interface also has a pretty cool surface texture option.

Finally, there are a few small changes to the interface such as the Weather application being made brighter and clearer in the sections measuring rainfall or wind speed for easy reading. The Camera application will display a yellow border around the tool button when you enable hidden features such as adjusting exposure. Apple also announced that it will remove the AirPort Utility application from the download store, along with source code that warns of errors if iCloud backup fails. In general, this Beta 2 mainly optimizes the experience. If you don't mind minor errors, you can try it. Otherwise, just wait for the Public Beta next month to get better.
