Launching the Make in Viet Nam Digital Technology Award 2026
(Dan Tri) - The 2026 Make in Viet Nam Digital Technology Product Award has a separate category for artificial intelligence products for the first time.
On the afternoon of August 28, at the regular August Press Conference, the Ministry of Science and Technology announced and launched the 2026 "Make in Vietnam Digital Technology Products" Award.
The Make in Viet Nam Digital Technology Product Award is organized to seek and honor digital technology products researched, designed, created and produced domestically by Vietnamese people.
Speaking at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich, Director of the Department of Digital Technology and Artificial Intelligence, said that not only does it honor the intelligence of Vietnamese scientists and researchers, the award also aims to find and spread products capable of solving practical problems in the country, supporting the national digital transformation process, and bringing Vietnamese technology brands to the international market.
Many typical science and technology products researched, created and developed by Vietnamese people have been widely applied, contributing to solving practical problems in the country and gradually approaching the international market (Photo: Hung Anh).
Through the award, digital technology businesses also have more opportunities to promote trade, attract investment and expand domestic and foreign markets.
More than 1,000 products participated after 6 years
After 6 years of organization, the Make in Viet Nam Digital Technology Product Award has attracted more than 1,000 participating products and honored 299 excellent digital technology products.
Many products after winning awards have been widely applied, contributing to national digital transformation, digital economic development and digital society. Some products have also been launched into foreign markets.
The Make in Viet Nam Digital Technology Product Award 2026 includes 8 categories including:
- Excellent digital technology products in the field of industry and construction (digital technology industry; mining industry; energy industry, processing, manufacturing; consumer goods manufacturing industry; construction).
- Excellent digital technology products in the fields of agriculture, natural resources and environment (agriculture, forestry, fisheries, natural resources and environment).
- Excellent digital technology products in the fields of transportation, postal and logistics.
- Excellent digital technology products in the fields of education, health, culture and society (education and training; health and people's health care; culture, sports; labor, employment and social security).
- Excellent digital technology products in the fields of finance, banking, commerce, and services (finance, banking, commerce, insurance, tourism).
- Excellent digital technology products for foreign markets.
- Excellent artificial intelligence products.
- Excellent potential digital technology products.
In each category, the Organizing Committee plans to award one Gold prize, one Silver prize, one Bronze prize, and select the Top 10 typical products.
For the first time, there is a category dedicated to AI
A notable new feature of this year's award is that for the first time, Outstanding Artificial Intelligence Product becomes a separate category.
According to the Organizing Committee, this category is for products in which artificial intelligence (AI) plays a core technology role, directly determining the function and value of the product, instead of just being used as an additional feature.
The addition of a separate category for AI is done in the context that this technology is rapidly spreading to many fields, from manufacturing, finance, education to healthcare, logistics and services.
According to Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich, Director of the Department of Information Technology Industry, Vietnam has many businesses capable of building their own models, developing algorithms and mastering Vietnamese data, so a suitable playground is needed for these products to be recognized and developed (Photo: Ministry of Science and Technology).
According to Mr. Nguyen Khac Lich, AI is creating new momentum for innovation. A specialized category is expected to encourage Vietnamese businesses to invest more in products with high added value, thereby promoting the AI ecosystem, improving labor productivity and business competitiveness.
The Award announcement and award ceremony is expected to be held in November or December 2026 within the framework of the National Forum on Vietnam Digital Technology Business Development.
