Launching the Vietnam - Australia technology connection platform

This is one of the activities of the Vietnam - Australia Forum for investment cooperation, development of digital technology and artificial intelligence. The event aims to connect, support the exchange of needs, introduce capabilities and seek cooperation opportunities between businesses and research organizations of the two countries.

Director of the Department of Digital Technology and Artificial Intelligence Nguyen Khac Lich said that V-bridge aims to maintain online connections between businesses and organizations in the Vietnam - Australia technology ecosystem. Thereby, partners can continue to learn, work and develop cooperation opportunities after face-to-face meetings.

According to Mr. Lich, the need for cooperation can start from "a technology that needs an application partner, a production problem that needs a solution, a training program that needs business participation, or a product that needs to find customers." "We expect V-bridge will help maintain connectivity," he said.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Le Xuan Dinh noted that international cooperation needs to contribute to the process of "improving productivity, growth quality and competitiveness" of Vietnam.

This is done by helping businesses and domestic research and training facilities access knowledge, develop human resources and improve technological capacity. Projects therefore need to associate research activities with the ability to create products that meet market needs and participate more deeply in the value chain.

According to the Deputy Minister, Vietnam has a great need for technology application, engineers and businesses are expanding their international operations. Meanwhile, Australia has universities, research facilities and innovation ecosystems that Vietnam wants to strengthen connections with. When combining those resources in specific projects, the two sides can "jointly develop technology, train human resources and seek new markets," he said.

The Deputy Minister proposed promoting Vietnam-Australia science and technology cooperation in a practical, effective and long-term manner. In particular, focus on four tasks: selecting projects based on actual needs and clearly determining the results; combine research and product development with human resource training; Effectively operate the V-bridge platform; At the same time, identify priority projects, partners, responsibilities of each party, expected resources, products and evaluation milestones.

Previously, within the framework of the State-level visit to Australia of General Secretary and President To Lam in August, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation on research and development, technology transfer, human resource development, investment attraction and support for Vietnamese digital technology businesses to access the Australian market.
