Rolex opens the world's highest store on top of the Swiss Alps

Rolex has just officially opened a special store located at an altitude of more than 3000m in the Swiss Alps. Thanks to its unique location, this place is also known as the highest Rolex store in the world. The store is located on top of Mount Titlis, a famous mountain located between the states of Obwalden and Bern, about 40km south of Lucerne city.

To get to this store, visitors have to make a rather long journey. First, take the train into the Alps, then take two cable cars and finally take the revolving gondola (the world's first revolving gondola). This turns the shopping journey into an experience combined with sightseeing tourism.

Although located on the top of a mountain, this store still operates similarly to other Rolex branches. Customers still have to sign up for the waiting list if they want to buy a watch. The Rolex store is located in the newly renovated Titlis tower, by famous architects Herzog & de Meuron. Actually, this building used to be an old telecommunications station from the 1980s. Instead of demolishing the building, the architects kept the 56m high tower and built two more horizontal glass blocks, creating a strange cross-shaped structure.

In addition, the building is also reinforced with concrete and load-bearing glass to withstand the harsh weather conditions of the high mountains.
