Sony first launched the True RGB TV generation in Vietnam

The Bravia 9 II, Bravia 7 II and Bravia 3 II lines, along with the Bravia Theater Trio and Theater Bar 7 audio products, were launched by Sony on the morning of June 22 at Thisky Hall (HCMC). According to the company, the series of devices was developed based on the perspective of directors, filmmakers and film experts to reproduce images and sounds close to the original creative intention.
True RGB technology for cinematic quality
The highlight of the event is the two models Bravia 9 II and Bravia 7 II - the first TVs to use True RGB technology. In the exhibition space, the brand displayed all sizes of two TV models so that attendees could actually observe the display quality.
On the product introduction stage, Mr. Nakashima Tomohiro, General Director of Sony Electronics Vietnam, called True RGB the most impressive display technology, marking the crystallization of more than 20 years of Sony's LED technology development.
The company started from applying RGB light source on Qualia 005 TV model launched in 2004, to Backlight Master Drive backlight control technology on high-end TV lines launched in 2016. The combination of these two technologies creates True RGB.
According to the explanation, this technology uses a system of independently controlled red, green and blue LEDs. Unlike OLED or Mini-LED that use white or blue backlight bulbs through a filter to create three RGB colors (Red - Green - Blue), Sony's technology completely removes the filter layer, so that the LED bulbs glow directly. Thanks to that, the color range on the Bravia TV line is expanded to the largest level ever.
Mr. Nakashima further explained that the difference also lies in the precise control of each RGB component on each backlight using RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro technology. In addition, the brand has the advantage of being present throughout the entire content creation journey, from cinema cameras, professional post-production monitors to home TVs.
"That helps Sony deeply understand what is the correct color, correct lighting and the emotions that filmmakers want to convey to the audience," Mr. Nakashima said.

True RGB also inherits the advantages of OLED (deep black, very high contrast) and Mini-LED (high brightness, wide color range).
"Combining an independently controlled RGB LED system with the advantages of Mini LED and OLED helps the TV produce pure, cinematic-quality images," Mr. Nakashima said.
Besides hardware, the product duo is equipped with many advanced Sony display technologies such as RGB Backlight Master Drive Pro, Twitter-Wide Angle Pro to help maintain stable image quality at many viewing angles.
In the audio segment, the full-range speaker system incorporates Voice Zoom 3 using AI to increase the clarity of dialogue. 3D Surround Upscaling technology expands stereo sound sources into a three-dimensional surround sound effect.
Sony also integrates features for cinematic experiences such as My Cinema, Ambient Optimization and supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, DTS:Twitter and Imax Enhanced.

Bravia 9 II is the most advanced product of this launch. The product is equipped with RGB Triluminos Max, Luminance Booster Pro and Smooth Color Gradation to increase color accuracy, brightness and smooth color transitions. The TV model also possesses Immersive Black Screen Pro anti-reflection technology, which helps maintain deep blacks and limit glare in bright environments. In terms of sound, the Acoustic Multi-Audio+ system combines beam ceiling tweeters to create a surround sound effect with greater depth.
Mr. Nakashima Tomohiro said the brand's biggest wish is to bring cinematic quality to every family's living room. According to him, currently, entertainment content produced and broadcast on online platforms such as Netflix is of very high quality. Therefore, using True RGB devices, supporting modern sound and image technology, helps the audience feel the vividness of each frame and scene, thereby better understanding the value of the film.
The explosion of online entertainment platforms and demand for home entertainment will open up development opportunities for high-quality TV products.

Agreeing with this opinion, director Victor Vu said that to make a movie, the crew spends a lot of time investing in camera angles, backgrounds, and post-production. However, the theatrical life cycle usually only lasts one month. After that, users can watch movies via online platforms. However, without a "cinema standard" screen and sound equipment, it is difficult for viewers at home to fully feel the filmmaker's intentions.
From there, he highly appreciated the Sony ecosystem that had just launched in Vietnam. According to the director, with the Sony Bravia True RGB TV product range, cinematic intentions can be conveyed more accurately, realistically and attractively.
First launch of 100 inch TV in Vietnam
In the popular segment, Bravia 3 II is introduced in many sizes from 43 to 100 inches. The 100-inch version targets the need for large-screen home entertainment, and is also the first time the company has introduced this size in the Vietnamese market.
The TV uses XR Processor, XR Triluminos Pro and Motionflow XR 960 technology (depending on version), supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Imax Enhanced, HDMI 2.1 and VRR to serve the needs of watching movies and playing games.

Mr. Tran Nhat Tan, National Sales Director of Sony Electronics Vietnam, said the launch of the 100-inch TV came from the unit's assessment of market demand. Previously, 85-100 inch models were often in the high-end segment. However, the income of Vietnamese people is increasing. It is predicted that the middle class will explode in the next 5 years. Since then, the need for home entertainment and enjoyment of life has also increased, and large-screen TVs will have "more land".
"We predict that the large screen segment will grow rapidly in the near future. Therefore, lines such as Bravia 3 II will be launched to anticipate this demand," Mr. Tan affirmed.
Expand your home audio ecosystem
Along with TVs, Sony introduced Bravia Theater Trio - a wireless sound system consisting of three speakers left, right and center for large screen TVs.
The product uses 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology, capable of creating up to 24 virtual speakers to expand the sound space. The system supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:Twitter and Imax Enhanced, and can be upgraded with optional subwoofers and surround speakers.
According to Sony, Theater Trio was developed with Sony Pictures Entertainment to more accurately reproduce sound effects in cinematic works.
Meanwhile, Bravia Theater Bar 7 is a high-end soundbar model with a 9-channel sound system, integrated ceiling speakers and Sound Field Optimization technology to automatically optimize sound according to room space. The product supports connection to one or two subwoofer speakers to enhance the bass range for large entertainment spaces.
Sony also introduced two new features to the Bravia ecosystem for the first time, including Direct Connect and Dual Subwoofer.
Direct Connect allows compatible TVs to connect directly to a subwoofer or wireless rear speakers without the need for a central soundbar. Meanwhile, Dual Subwoofer supports simultaneous connection of two subwoofers to compatible audio systems to enhance bass effects and sound coverage.
In terms of sustainable development, Sony says its 2026 TV models use a lot of recycled materials. The Bravia 9 II is the company's first TV model to use plastic sourced from renewable sources from used cooking oil on the back and some internal components.
