Sony Japan sharply increased the price of the Cinema line: FX3A increased by nearly 19%, FX6 and FR7 also increased

Sony Marketing Japan announces the adjustment of factory prices and list prices of some Cinema Line products effective from September 1, 2026. The reason given by the company is: increased costs of raw materials, production and logistics. The average increase is about 12%. A total of 18 items are affected, including 7 devices/kits and 11 types of memory cards.

FX3A body increased the most clearly: from 581,900 yen to 693,000 yen, an additional 111,100 yen, equivalent to 19.1%. FX6 body from 935,000 yen to 1,045,000 yen (+11.8%). The FX6+ 24-105mm set increased by 11.6%. FR7 (PTZ cinema) from 1,430,000 to 1,622,500 yen (+13.5%). FR7 + 28-135mm set increased by 14.2%. FX30 is lighter: body +7.4%, version with XLR handle +6.3%.

This is the Japanese price, it is unclear how it will affect the Vietnamese price. But when the company adjusts in the original market, other regions often follow a few weeks to a few months later, or dealers adjust themselves because of supply sources. Not just Sony. Fujifilm also just increased prices, many other companies are doing the same because of components and shipping. The Vietnamese market may not be affected immediately, so if you are planning to invest in a machine, you should consider making an early decision before the new price is updated.
