Tay Ninh prioritizes the development of UAVs and AI

(Dan Tri) - Tay Ninh prioritizes the development of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and artificial intelligence (AI) as two strategic technology fields.
On July 15, the People's Committee of Tay Ninh province coordinated with the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry to organize a forum to develop the creative startup ecosystem of Tay Ninh province and promote startup linkages in the South.
At the forum, Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee Le Van Han affirmed that the development of science and technology, innovation and digital transformation will be the driving force to create a breakthrough for local growth in the new period.

The province identifies UAV and AI as two priority strategic technology areas for deployment from now to 2030.
With UAVs, the locality has built a Strategy for developing the drone ecosystem for the period 2026-2030, with a vision to 2035. This orientation aims to make Tay Ninh become a center for testing, training, testing, application and development of UAV supporting industries in the southern region.
According to provincial leaders, the above orientation is based on the advantage of linking with Ho Chi Minh City - a place with strengths in research and technology development. Meanwhile, Tay Ninh has land fund and convenient field space for testing, training and application deployment. This connection will create a new value chain and growth driver for the entire region.
High-tech development orientation is placed on the foundation of positive local growth. In the first six months of 2026, Tay Ninh's GRDP is estimated to increase by 10.12%, exceeding the proposed scenario, ranking 8th out of 34 provinces and cities and leading the southern region. State budget revenue reached more than 32,600 billion VND, equal to 60.7% of the estimate assigned by the Central Government; The public investment disbursement rate reached over 46%, among the highest in the country.

Investment attraction continued to be a bright spot when the province issued new licenses for 70 domestic investment projects with a total capital of about 36,600 billion VND and 70 FDI projects with a total newly registered capital, adjusted over 2.2 billion USD. Accumulated to date, Tay Ninh has more than 3,100 domestic projects with a total capital of about 757,000 billion VND and 2,051 FDI projects, total registered capital of over 27.6 billion USD.
According to Mr. Toan, the above results create an important foundation for developing an innovation ecosystem. In the period 2026-2030, Tay Ninh aims to build an innovation system with 300 members, solve 100 innovation problems each year, support 100 businesses to improve productivity and incubate 300-350 startup projects.
"Tay Ninh is committed to continuing to create a favorable environment for creative ideas to be tested, start-up businesses to connect resources, contributing to forming a dynamic innovation ecosystem for the entire southern region," Mr. Hanh emphasized.
