Visit the 6th floor of the world's largest music record store: Tower Record Shibuya

While coming to Tokyo to attend the Roborock event, I stopped by Tower Record music center to buy some music records for my son. I had to come all the way here to buy it because the guy who plays Japanese music doesn't believe in streaming so his music has to be bought physically. Walking around Tower Record is truly overwhelming because in an era where everything is going up in the clouds, people still have such a large, majestic place selling physical music. I'm fascinated by the 6th floor, where I found almost all the songs I've ever heard made in the most advanced format, vinyl records... If you have the opportunity to come to Tokyo, don't miss this place, it is a pillar of musical culture that humans will probably find difficult to regain.

The slogan No Music No Life is impressive

The 6th floor of Tower Records Shibuya – TOWER VINYL SHIBUYA is vinyl heaven

With about 100,000 vinyl records, of which more than 40,000 are used, covering every genre except classic. The most special feature is in the old disc area: thousands of rare, original albums from the 70s–90s, many of which are almost no longer found elsewhere. Buyers often buy from abroad and receive local purchases, so the warehouse always rotates with "one-time" copies. You can come across Japanese rock records with intact bands of Black Sabbath, Rolling Stones, The Smiths or Sex Pistols; Rare J-Jazz versions of Masayoshi Takanaka, Casiopea; solo by Ryuichi Sakamoto, Yukihiro Takahashi (YMO); or rare groove, punk, new wave, indie UK titles that are hard to find.

The day I went in was the occasion when the Michael Jackson documentary was shown, so there was an area for this event.
