This impressive achievement helps Vietnam surpass many technological powers such as the US (ranked 12th) or China (ranked 13th). Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) continues to maintain the global throne in the mobile rankings with download speeds of up to 663.50Mbps.
Along with the development of mobile networks, Vietnam's fixed broadband Internet also witnessed growth, increasing by 1 rank to rise to 7th place globally.
The average download speed of Vietnam's fixed network reached 307.11Mbps, upload speed reached 261.76Mbps and latency reached 4ms. Meanwhile, the world leader in fixed broadband speed belongs to Singapore with a download speed of 451.14Mbps.
In Vietnam, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are bright spots in the development of network infrastructure. Accordingly, Hanoi recorded strong growth when the mobile network speed here increased by 33 places to rank 10th in the world, reaching an average download speed of 339.47Mbps.
For fixed broadband networks, although Ho Chi Minh City recorded a slight decrease of 3 places, it still maintained its position in the leading group, ranking 15th globally with an average download speed of 300.38Mbps.

Vietnam's Internet infrastructure has witnessed many breakthroughs in recent times. According to a report from the Ministry of Science and Technology at the meeting at the end of February, Vietnam's 5G coverage reached nearly 91.2% of the population; At the same time, 81.5% of the adult population uses smartphones; 26% of users have access to speeds above 1Gbps.
Statistics from a network operator show that over 70% of mobile data traffic focuses on videos, social networks and digital content platforms. With speeds 10-15 times higher than 4G, 5G networks deliver superior mobile Internet experiences, especially for services requiring high bandwidth such as high-definition video, online entertainment and remote work.
