Experience the bikini case for iPhone: Arc Pusle
I tried the Arc Pusle two-piece top-bottom case for iPhone 17 Pro that I bought since its launch and have only now used it. If it weren't for the exceptionally beautiful, technologically engineered and well-protected case, I wouldn't have been interested in using the iPhone 17 Pro. In this topic, I have droptest, talking about industrial design, finishing and actual photos.
Droptest, if it can't protect the weak aluminum frame iPhone 17 Pro, I won't continue
I don't like the fact that Apple switched from a sturdy material, definitely steel, to titanium (just a small part) and then to completely aluminum and clearly many people experienced the iPhone 17 Pro being dropped, dented, scratched... so I dropped a test first to see how this 2-piece bathing suit (bikini) case will protect the fragile iPhone. First, I tried the drop test on the cement floor (I used Vinh Tuong's DURAflex board). Test mines were dropped at heights such as sitting desks, standing desks, standing positions to listen to the phone and were thrown at about 3m high (3m is the height that Arc Pusle says the case will protect the iPhone safely). As a result, the case is still stuck on the phone and the phone is not scratched because it has no chance of contact with the floor.
The phone screen is protected by 4 slightly raised but very hard corners.
Industrial design and materials
This is an important part that provides strength to protect and brings great value to the Arc Pusle case. People use 7075-T6 aluminum, which is an aluminum alloy used in the aviation industry as well as important parts in weapons and racing cars. Characteristics of 7075-T6 aluminum are high hardness, extremely good compression/tensile resistance (about 570 MPa), lighter than steel but harder than many conventional aluminum. And more specifically, the Arc Pusle case is CNC made from a whole block of aluminum rather than stamped and shaped from a thin aluminum sheet, so it has a stiffer structure and does not deform when impacted.
Remove the rubber pad to reveal an aluminum frame that is CNC and finished with an anti-scratch coating.
The aluminum piece is precisely matched to the concave part of the aluminum frame. These two factors help the case not deform when dropped and it does not affect the phone (does not distort the phone leading to broken screen due to the glass being irritated or twisted) and does not come off the phone. If it comes off the phone from a head impact, the phone will collide and be damaged in subsequent ejections. The surface of the aluminum piece is covered with a scratch-resistant layer and according to my tests, the scratch-resistant layer is really of good quality. No matter how many times it was dropped, it only had a little scratch. And this anti-shock layer feels like the Arc Pusle case is made of steel even though it is not made of steel.
The rubber part sits between the phone's body and the outer aluminum frame, like a seal or cushion.
Feeling in hand
Because it is CNC, the exterior shape can achieve whatever the designer desires. Arc Pusle, you can understand it as curves, curved waves, curved rhythms... If you ever remember the Sony Ericsson Xperi Arc, it was also curved and beautiful. Not an even curve, but a winding curve. If you use the glossy finish, the light effect on it will be even more curved and beautiful.
And when it's in your hand, you can feel the softness and curvature, not the heaviness and heaviness of other metal products. There is almost no need, almost no feeling of heavy, tight skin touching. Most of today's cases are quite present and can be felt when held in the hand. You still touch the phone's frame, so you still feel and communicate with the phone's buttons, not through the buttons on the case. This provides a better using experience.
The case does not take up much of the overall appearance of the phone.
Design and finishing
As I said above, the design of Arc Pusle for iPhone 17 Pro is too special and follows vivid curves and edges. Combined with glossy finishing, it is even more curved and vivid. It's more like a work of art than a case to protect your phone. There are many technology products in the world, but not many technology products are as beautiful and artistic as this Arc Pusle case. This year, I was fortunate to use another specially designed product besides Aur Pusle, which is the Bang & Olufsen Beosound Premiere speaker. Both are not simply pieces of technology, both are works of art that are sold on a mass basis... In terms of perfection, Arc Pusle is superior to the iPhone 17 Pro as well as many other smartphones on the market, but compared to other cases, it is too normal. The cover is CNC made with very beautiful, curvy curves and edges.
The lower part is less curved because it is smaller overall, but it is still very curved and smooth.
The case is attached to the phone by pushing it in and keeping it there.
This angle looks rough but is actually softer, less present.
The top part is also rough but actually less so.
Unlike other good protective cases that usually cover the entire device.
Overall it's still more of a phone.
The rubber lining of the phone is sturdy in the middle.
