Many leaked information indicates that the first folding screen iPhone may be named iPhone Ultra or iPhone Fold. However, MacRumors revealed that Apple is considering another name, iPhone Duo.

Looking back in the past, Apple also used the name Duo for some of its product lines such as the PowerBook Duo laptop launched in 1990 or the MagSafe Duo wireless charger introduced in 2020.
In the case of the folding screen iPhone, the name Duo is intended to represent the two-screen design on this device.
However, there are also mixed opinions that Apple will avoid using the name Duo for its folding iPhone. The reason comes from brand overlap with competitors.
Microsoft launched a two-screen Android smartphone called Surface Duo in 2020. Meanwhile, Intel also had Core Duo and Core 2 Duo processor lines that were very popular in the 2000s.
It is expected that Apple will hold an event to launch a series of new products at 10:00 a.m. on September 9 (Pacific time), or 0:00 a.m. on September 10 (Vietnam time). Here, the company will announce the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and its first folding screen iPhone.
Apple is expected to release the first folding screen iPhone in the US market. After that, the company plans to launch product sales to key markets such as China in the next 2-3 months. The release in batches is said to be due to supply constraints and pricing issues.
