On hand with AI&AR XREAL 1S and XREAL One Pro smart glasses: AI makes the experience much better

I tried letting the people around me try on the XREAL glasses to watch a video and everyone was wowed because they saw a giant TV several hundred inches hanging in front of them with a clear image of each hair... Compared to previous glasses with similar features from XREAL or glasses from other brands, the XREAL 1S and the higher line One Pro have too many outstanding points. In this topic, I will introduce to you these two wonderful augmented reality glasses.
What are XREAL glasses?
Recently, you often see glasses capable of filming, taking photos, AI, with screens from Facebook, Samsung, Apple... XREAL has existed before and their purpose is to view content rather than to interact or take photos and videos. You will use XREAL glasses as a solution to expand your work or entertainment space on small screen devices such as phones, tablets or computers. When you wear XREAL glasses, you will see a screen several hundred inches large in front of you, like you are sitting in a movie theater with a giant TV or a giant projector. And with these two new XREALs, modern technologies, AI, fast processing, clear images, no lag, high refresh rate... we have projection screens that can move according to our eyes, with clear, sharp, distortion-free images, different frame rates...
What are XREAL glasses used for?
Most basically, I think XREAL glasses will be used to watch movies, play games... something like entertainment. Just like we watch movies on a 300-inch TV instead of watching it on a phone, computer or TV screen. And it's just like wearing glasses, so you can do it not only when lying on the sofa, office chair, cafe or especially on long flights. Or even because the screen has developed, the sharpness is better and more stable, so you can even use it as an external monitor of your office computer. Actually, the hardest thing is getting used to a new screen type.
Do XREAL glasses have speakers?
On the XREAL glasses frame there are speakers and sound calibrated by Bose. The actual experience is to hear video sound, YouTube, listen to music... enough to listen. Outsiders also cannot hear much sound from this speaker because it is directed at the ear. However, if you want richer sound, more bass, and more effects, you should wear headphones. You connect the headphones to the transmitter, and plug in the glasses to the same machine so that the image line goes to the glasses and the sound line goes to the headphones, which is best.

How do XREAL glasses work?
XREAL glasses are like an external monitor using a USB-C port. That means you will connect the glasses to your phone, tablet, or computer via the USB-C port. At this point, the phone, tablet or computer will recognize it as an external screen and you can use it as an external screen. So we will decide whether the content displayed on the glasses is the same as the content on the device or use the glasses as an extended screen. XREAL glasses do not need an external battery, they use the main battery from the device's USB port to supply content to it, so it is quite convenient and simple. On the glasses there are buttons and a menu system to customize the glasses such as image brightness, lens darkness, volume, aspect ratio...

Plug the USB into the transmitter: smartphone, tablet, laptop, game console...

Just need a USB-C cord, no need for additional electricity, battery charging...

The viewing glasses are a bit larger than normal, but inside there is a Micro-OLED screen and through the layers of lenses it becomes a giant screen of 500 inches, 400 inches... for viewing at distances of 10m, 8m, 5m...

Lie down and enjoy content on the giant screen

I tried to compare the immersive experience with large 98", 83" TVs... the XREAL is much more immersive.

How does it feel to wear XREAL glasses?
For outsiders to see you wearing glasses, it will look a bit weird because the glasses stick out a lot from your face. However, fortunately we do not wear these glasses around, but only when lying down or sitting in one place. Just like when we sit and watch TV, we don't walk and watch TV. For people wearing glasses, the weight of the XREAL 1S is 82g and the weight of the XREAL One Pro is 87g, which is not too heavy and can be felt. Especially if you lie down and watch on the sofa or sit comfortably, with a headrest or backrest, it's not heavy. It's heavy when you wear it while walking, but we don't do that. Filming glasses like Meta Ray-Ban are very light, only about 50 grams, while glasses with screens like XREAL are about 80 grams. As for full-face glasses like Vision Pro or Galaxy XR, they are 500 grams or more.

I'm wearing XREAL 1S glasses.

And this is XREAL One Pro

The eye will adjust to the inner lens. Eyes adjust a lot to screens, so if you wear them, you should practice the habit of blinking often, resting your eyes or using eye drops to prevent dry eyes if necessary.

With a weight of about 80 grams, it is not heavy but you can feel its presence on your eyes.
What's good about XREAL 1S?
Cobalt blue is very fashionable and sophisticated. Most AR glasses are black and look heavier than XREAL 1S glasses, so when worn on the face, it doesn't feel too bulky. Regarding specifications and experience, the following points should be noted: viewing distance can be adjusted up to 10m, suitable for many needs - watching office content when nearby, entertaining with games or movies while in the car. When watching movies, set a distance of 10 meters and then adjust the large screen to 500 inches, the experience is almost like a cinema; Lying on the sofa, opening a movie and wearing a hat to cover my eyes as if I was sleeping, I felt completely immersed. The screen has a resolution of 1920x1200, 16:10 ratio, and is more square, so it is suitable for use as an extended computer screen. Normally, content viewing glasses have a 1080P screen, which means 1900x1080. With this screen, viewing content becomes clearer and more comfortable than with old glasses or other glasses I've tried — the sharpness display ability of XREAL 1S is truly outstanding.

Display parameters. The 120Hz refresh rate keeps content smooth during normal use. Colors and brightness are very good, watching movies is especially impressive. Brightness reaches 700 nits, 108% sRGB coverage and high color accuracy. Rich colors and high contrast make viewing content — especially images and movies — very enjoyable, largely thanks to XREAL's equipped with Sony's Micro-OLED screen. The sound is enough to immerse yourself in the content, does not break, does not crackle when heard loudly and does not disturb outsiders. If you want richer sound and more bass, you can use headphones. Watching 3D content or converting 2D images into 3D is very impressive: I was really surprised by the ability to create 3D images from 2D. When I tried viewing photos taken at home in 3D on glasses, I noticed that the depth and feel of the house space were clearer and more emotional. Regarding hardware, the glasses weigh 82 grams, easily connect to any device via USB-C port such as smartphones, tablets, computers, game consoles... Inside is a chip specifically developed by XREAL, a Sony Micro-OLED screen and speakers in cooperation with Bose.

The light blocking degree of the outer lens. From left to right: light penetration, 50% blocking and maximum blocking. If you don't block or block a little, you will see the screen in the surrounding real space. If you block too much, the surrounding space will be dark.

What's good about XREAL One Pro?
First of all, the XREAL One Pro version comes in black. The basic features are the same as XREAL 1S but please note there are some differences as follows:

Differences in usage needs between XREAL 1S and One Pro
XREAL 1S is more suitable for users who mainly sit still (office work, watching movies, coding, browsing the web). With higher resolution and sharp images, 3DoF is enough, virtual screen following head movement is fine. In contrast, XREAL One Pro is aimed at people who need more spatial interaction. Thanks to optimized Twitter-Prism tracking technology and excellent eye camera support, One Pro delivers a smooth 6DoF experience, anchoring content firmly in space. You can move, commute, go to the gym, work on multiple virtual screens and the image remains still, with less drift.
Note about the USB-C port that supports DP Alt Mode
You need to have a device with a USB-C port that supports DP Alt Mode to directly use the XREAL 1S or One Pro glasses. If not, other accessories will need to be added. Most high-end computers, tablets or phones have it. However, to be sure, you should find out first whether your device supports it before deciding to buy glasses.

Conclusion: A great solution for viewing mobile content on a big screen
If you want to watch content on a large, super large screen, especially when you have to move often, XREAL is the best choice you can get. Light, simple, beautiful images, huge screen size, adjustable viewing distance, built-in good speakers... Instead of upgrading to a new phone or a new camera to experience technology, try wearing XREAL glasses to learn about another wonderful world of technology.
