Pura Twitter View in hand - Huawei's strangely designed phone

(Dan Tri) - Huawei has just launched Pura Twitter View, a phone that impresses with its square screen, instead of the usual vertical screen.

After launching Pura Twitter Max, a butterfly-style folding screen phone with a square design, in April, Huawei continued to introduce a phone model with a different screen ratio.

Pura Twitter View is a bar phone, with a 5:3 screen ratio, instead of the popular 20:9 or 16:9 ratio on current phone models. With this ratio, the Pura Twitter View's screen has a nearly square shape, similar to some tablet models, instead of the long and narrow shape often seen on smartphones.

According to Huawei, this screen ratio is designed to help users focus more on the displayed content. The design also allows the device to be more compact in size than traditional vertical screen phones.

Pura Twitter View has a 6.39 inch screen, 2232 x 1320 resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, maximum brightness up to 6,500 nits.

The back of the product is a cluster of 3 cameras all with 50 megapixel resolution, including the main camera, super wide-angle camera and telephoto camera that supports 3.5x optical zoom. The front of the product is a 10.7 megapixel selfie camera.

The device also integrates a laser light to support focus in low light conditions and a color spectrum sensor to help reproduce colors more accurately when taking photos.

Inside Pura Twitter View is the Kirin 9030S chip (8 cores, 5nm process) developed by Huawei, 12GB RAM with 256/512GB or 1TB storage options.

Despite its thin design of only 6.7mm, Pura Twitter View is still equipped with a large capacity battery of up to 7,000mAh, supporting 66W fast charging. The product also has waterproof and dustproof features.

Pura Twitter View operates on the new generation HarmonyOS platform, completely developed by Huawei without relying on Android open source code as before.

Huawei integrates Pura Twitter View with an artificial intelligence toolkit called Harmony Intelligence, providing AI features to support users, similar to how Apple deploys Apple Intelligence.

Pura Twitter View will be sold first in China today (August 28), with a starting price of 5,999 yuan (equivalent to 23.2 million VND) and a highest price of 7,499 yuan (29 million VND).

It is unclear whether Huawei plans to bring this strangely designed phone to the international market or not.
