Samsung Galaxy Watch9 in hand: Measuring vital index, Running Coach, unchanged design

The Galaxy Watch9 has an unchanged design compared to the Watch8, but the internal software has been upgraded quite a bit by Samsung, continuing to focus on the health field, turning the Galaxy Watch into a more focused health monitoring device than a regular smart watch, with new features such as vital index and heart health score. The Galaxy Watch9 will also be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear Elite processor, Qualcomm's latest processor for wearable devices, and it improves the CPU by more than 32% and the GPU by 19%.
Design overview

This year Samsung continues to improve the strap, making it softer and more snug on the user's wrist. In terms of size, Watch9 still has two watch face sizes: 40mm and 44mm.

The Watch9 has a screen brightness equivalent to last year's Watch Ultra of approximately 2000 nits, a 390mAh battery for the 40mm version and 450mAh for the 44mm version and Samsung says the Watch9 can be used for about 2 days.

In terms of color, Galaxy Watch9 has 3 main colors: Cream, Graphite and Silver, along with a rich and diverse strap ecosystem.
Health features

This year Samsung added a series of new health monitoring features to Watch9, first is the vital index, Samsung will combine a series of important body indicators to provide a comprehensive report of a common index, signaling an overview of the user's current health.

Indicators collected and statistically included heart rate, heart rate variability, skin temperature, blood oxygen and respiratory rate. Samsung's requirement is that users must wear the watch for at least 4 days (including when sleeping) to get the most accurate information.

The third feature related to sports activities is called Running Coach. Samsung will rely on your activities to synthesize scores such as endurance, resilience, exercise ability, plus survival indicators to give you a training suggestion if you want to improve a certain factor. For example, if you want to improve your endurance, Samsung will have exercises to help you achieve that goal.

It can be seen that the Galaxy Watch in general is increasingly becoming a workout assistant instead of a smart device that complements the phone.
New software

Galaxy Watch9 will also run on Samsung's latest version of One UI 9 Watch.

Another feature I find quite interesting is calling Gemini hands-free. Just raise your wrist, raise the watch and start speaking, it will activate Gemini. I don't know if there are specific instructions to avoid accidental activation. When I have the watch, I will try this. More images of Galaxy Watch9:
