(Dan Tri) - In a post on the Reddit platform, the uBlock Origin ad blocker development team has just announced that they will stop supporting ad filtering on Facebook.

A representative of the uBlock Origin development team also criticized Facebook as an anti-user platform.

"All they do is monitor open source projects, then find ways to deal with them to insert malicious ads. Programmers earning salaries of up to millions of dollars do just that.

Users need to speak up. Resigning, continuing to visit and support this website is the worst thing you can do," said the uBlock Origin development team.

To bypass advertising filters, Facebook has applied many different tricks. For example, Facebook will break up the text "Sponsored" into letters scattered across many separate lines of code, shuffle the order of appearance, and insert fake characters in between.

The purpose of this move is to confuse the identification tools of ad blocking utilities like uBlock Origin. From there, updating filters becomes a never-ending race between developers.
