The YouTube app encountered a strange error

(Dan Tri) - In a recent announcement, Google confirmed that the YouTube application is having problems when used in full screen display mode.

Specifically, after exiting full screen mode, information related to the video such as title, description and comments will completely disappear.

"We've noticed that some users are experiencing missing video information after exiting full screen mode on YouTube. We're actively investigating this issue and will update with the latest information as soon as possible," the YouTube team said.

Currently, this issue is mainly reported for the YouTube app on iPad. Meanwhile, the YouTube app on Android devices, iPhones and web browsers still works normally.

This error started appearing over the weekend as users continuously reported the problem on Reddit and Google's official support forums. When the viewer exits full screen mode, the entire interface area below the video player becomes empty.

Opening a new video also doesn't fix the broken layout. Missing interface elements continue to not display when switching from one video to another.

Some users said they were forced to close the YouTube application, or even restart the device, to temporarily fix the above problem.

The above issue affects both users running the official iPadOS version and recent public beta versions. This shows that the problem comes directly from the YouTube application, not from Apple's operating system.
