(Dan Tri) - The rate of using new generation IPv6 Internet addresses reached 67%, ranking second in Southeast Asia and seventh in the world according to data published by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

At the regular September press conference held on September 30, under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Tran Trung Tinh, the Ministry announced many notable results in the field of digital technology industry, digital transformation and telecommunications infrastructure development.

Nearly half of the adult population already has a digital signature

According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, digital technology industry revenue in September is estimated to reach 770,766 billion VND, up 36% over the same period in 2025.

Accumulated in the first 9 months of the year, industry-wide revenue is estimated at 5,387,142 billion VND, equivalent to more than 5.38 million billion VND, an increase of 32.1% over the same period.

Along with revenue growth, indicators of digital transformation and Internet infrastructure continue to record remarkable results.

From its opening in 2020 to September 15, the National Data Sharing and Integration Platform (NDXP) has recorded a total of 4.86 billion transactions.

Meanwhile, the number of digital signature certificates issued as of September reached 34.575 million. According to the Ministry of Science and Technology, about 49.96% of the population aged 15-65 has a digital signature, equivalent to nearly half of this population group.

Regarding Internet infrastructure, as of September 15, Vietnam had 703,236 ".vn" national domain names maintained, an increase of 5.7% over the same period last year.

The rate of using new generation IPv6 Internet addresses reached 67%, ranking second in Southeast Asia and seventh in the world according to data published by the Ministry of Science and Technology.

In the postal sector, September revenue is estimated to reach 9,260 billion VND, an increase of 22% over the same period in 2025. Postal output will reach about 440 million, an increase of 14%.

Scientific research activities also recorded 3,131 international publications from Vietnam listed on the Scopus database in September.

In the field of industrial property, the National Office of Intellectual Property received 16,205 applications, processed 17,525 applications and granted 8,096 protection titles.

In September, the Ministry of Science and Technology issued two ministerial decisions and three circulars.

Notably, Decision No. 3795/QD-BKHCN promulgated a set of indicators to measure the development of Vietnam's semiconductor industry.

Along with that, Decision No. 3805/QD-BKHCN sets out a plan to develop a system of national research, testing centers and key laboratories, focusing on strategic technology fields.

On September 11, the Ministry also launched the National Information System on science, technology and innovation.

The system is oriented to manage data throughout the life cycle of scientific and technological tasks, contributing to reducing administrative procedures, serving policy planning and connecting research results with businesses.

Focus on removing wave depressions and expanding AI applications

In October, the Ministry of Science and Technology plans to focus on completing four law projects related to measurement, postal, intellectual property and science, technology and innovation.

One of the key tasks is to complete 14 of the remaining 20 tasks of the 100-day Action Plan, while continuing to clean, connect and share data between agencies.

The Ministry will also deploy the Digital National Overall Architecture Framework and expand the application of artificial intelligence (AI) to support public affairs activities.

Regarding telecommunications infrastructure, the Ministry aims to handle the problem of signal degradation in 273 villages and hamlets and 209 locations that are headquarters of state agencies, educational and public health facilities that have weak signal quality or are not yet covered.

In particularly difficult areas, the Ministry will research the combination of mobile broadcasting stations (BTS) with temporary satellite connection solutions to improve access to telecommunications services.

In addition, the Ministry continues to implement the National Strategy on Artificial Intelligence to 2030, with a vision to 2045, focusing on improving the capacity to research, develop, master and apply AI.

In the field of energy, the Ministry will continue to improve the legal basis, standards, regulations and master plan for nuclear power infrastructure development.
