Vietnam promotes the transfer and application of quantum technology

Mr. Vo Xuan Hoai, Deputy Director of NIC, said that Vietnam needs to proactively participate in the quantum field right from the stage when the global ecosystem is being shaped. According to him, national quantum capacity needs to develop synchronously from research and high-quality human resources to businesses, products and markets. This is to "gradually create the capacity to master and create value from quantum technology", he said at the launching ceremony of Vietnam - Asia Quantum Summit 2026, held last weekend.
To realize it, NIC will organize the Vietnam - Asia Quantum Technology Conference in November, with policy forums, investment, and technology exhibitions, connecting Vietnam with quantum centers of Asia and the world.
According to a representative of the National Innovation Center, the purpose is to connect resources to form projects, promote cooperation in research, training, technology transfer, investment and testing of quantum applications in Vietnam.

Mr. Ge Gui Guo, senior expert of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, said that Asia plays an increasingly important role in the global quantum ecosystem. According to him, strengthening regional cooperation in research, human resource development and quantum technology application will open up new opportunities for countries in the region.
Appreciating Vietnam's potential, senior advisor JV Quantum of the Russian National Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom), Mr. Denis Avetisyan, said that the agency is promoting cooperation programs, from talent training, access to quantum infrastructure, joint research to technology demonstration and deployment of pilot applications.
Meanwhile, Professor Lai Ngoc Diep, Paris-Saclay University (France) said that to develop quantum technology, Vietnam needs to connect the young workforce with international universities, research centers and businesses. This helps Vietnam improve the quality of its human resources, expand research opportunities and "gradually increase its presence in the international quantum science community," she said.
Quantum technology is currently classified by Vietnam as a national strategic technology group, according to the Government's May list. The domestic quantum ecosystem is also forming, with the Vietnam Network of Innovation and Quantum Technology Experts (VNQuantum) established in August 2025, connecting scientists, universities, businesses and startups.
