Viettel won the auction with number 095 for 252.5 billion VND

(Dan Tri) - In the latest announcement on the official website, the Vietnam Partnership Auction Company (VPA) said that the right to use mobile network code 95 was successfully auctioned on the morning of July 10 at a price of 252.5 billion VND.

Mobile network code is the code used to identify the network operator in the telecommunications system. Accordingly, code 95 corresponds to the prefix 095. Previously, the prefix 095 used to be associated with the SFone network.

However, after the SFone network stopped operating in 2016, the prefix 095 almost no longer appeared in the telecommunications market.

According to a previous announcement from the Ministry of Science and Technology, the starting price for mobile network code 95 is set at 2.5 billion VND. Thus, the selling price is up to 250 billion VND different from the starting price.

According to Dan Tri's source, the winning bidder with number 095 is Viettel Telecommunications Corporation (Viettel Telecom), a member unit of the Military Industry and Telecommunications Group (Viettel).

After a successful auction and network code allocation, the winning bidder must make a written commitment to put the 095 number into operation and actual use within a maximum of 6 months.

The management agency said that organizing the auction not only helps meet the needs of businesses and people to use digital warehouses, but also contributes a significant source of revenue to the State budget.
