VinFast VF 2 launched, urban electric car priced at 188 million VND, delivery from September 2026

VinFast has just officially introduced VF 2 - a small electric car model for individual customers, with an announced price of 188 million VND including battery. This is a model that the company positions for urban mobility needs, targeting a group of customers who are considering switching from motorbikes to cars. VF 2 was developed by VinFast based on the foundation of the Minio Green model - the previous car line mainly served service business purposes. In this version for individual customers, the company has refined and optimized some details to better suit daily use needs.

VF 2 has overall dimensions length x width x height of 3,090 x 1,496 x 1,663.2 mm, wheelbase 2,065 mm. To make it easier to imagine, the car's length is significantly shorter than popular A-size hatchback models on the market (usually over 3,700 mm long), making it easier for the car to maneuver and park in narrow spaces. Regarding the exterior, the car is equipped with LED front lights and 13-inch wheels. The small rim size is suitable for low-speed urban vehicle orientation, and also helps reduce tire replacement costs later.

The battery pack of VF 2 has a available capacity of 18.3 kWh, giving a maximum travel distance of 210 km after each full charge according to NEDC standards. It should be noted that NEDC standards often give higher results than actual usage conditions, so actual mileage may be lower depending on operating conditions, load and air conditioning usage. However, with the need to travel around the city on average 30-50 km/day, users may only need to charge it every 3-5 days.

Regarding charging capabilities, the car supports fast charging with a maximum capacity of 24 kW, allowing charging from 10% to 70% of the battery in about 34 minutes. VF 2 has some notable safety equipment: - Airbag for driver

The vehicle's suspension system is MacPherson type on both front and rear axles. On a general basis, these are equipment that motorbikes absolutely do not have, and are also VinFast's main argument when positioning VF 2 as an alternative to motorbikes: users are better protected when traveling, not affected by the weather. VF 2 has a listed price of 188 million VND, including batteries - different from some previous electric car models of VinFast that apply a battery rental policy. This price is equivalent to some large displacement motorbikes or high-end scooters on the market.

Included is a free battery charging policy 10 times per month at V-Green public charging stations nationwide, valid until February 10, 2029, helping to significantly reduce operating costs in the first 3 years of use. VinFast accepts VF 2 deposits from July 15, 2026. Customers who deposit in the first 3 days (July 15-17, 2026) will receive a discount of 8 million VND/car.

VF 2 is VinFast's next step in expanding its product range to the lowest price segment of the electric car market. With a price of 188 million VND, the car does not compete directly with traditional A-size car models but targets the group of motorbike users who want to upgrade their vehicle. The car's strengths lie in its selling price, low operating costs thanks to the free charging policy and urban-appropriate size. On the contrary, buyers need to accept clear limitations: a maximum speed of 80 km/h is not suitable for highways, basic amenities, only 2 doors and airbags only equipped for the driver. VF 2 is therefore best suited as a second car in the family or a daily vehicle within the city.
