The organizers said that the nominations fall into three groups, evaluated based on the following criteria: intellectuals and scientists with widely applied research topics; Farmers have inventions and technical solutions that bring practical results; Managers actively transfer and guide science and technology to farmers.

Among the honored individuals, 26 people have doctorate degrees from universities and research institutes. Typical examples are Prof. Dr. Le Van Hoa - Faculty of Agriculture, Can Tho University, Associate Professor, Dr. Dinh The Nhan, Head of the Department of Aquaculture Engineering at Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry, Dr. Nguyen Thi Bich Ngoc, Deputy Director of Plant Protection.

Also honored were farmers who researched and improved techniques based on production needs. Among them, Mr. Le Loc Quan, owner of Quan Phat honey facility in Dong Nai, has initiatives on honey processing and improving beekeeping techniques. He has successfully researched a granular crystallized honey product, aiming to use it as a substitute for refined sugar.

Mr. Hoang Dinh Que, from Tan An ward, Bac Ninh province, is recognized for his initiative to manage waste in pig farms towards a circular economy. The solution contributes to environmental protection and improves production efficiency at farms with revenue of tens of billions of VND each year.

At the morning event on October 2, the Central Vietnam Farmers' Union also awarded prizes in the 11th National Farmer Technical Innovation Competition. The contest selected 24 excellent solutions from 83 applications in three field groups: mechanics and processing; livestock and fisheries; horticulture, biology and environment.

The first prize went to author Nguyen Manh Hung with the solution of a compact, low-cost honey purifying machine suitable for the scale of beekeeping households, while still removing small impurities and bacteria.

According to Vice President of the Central Vietnam Farmers' Union Bui Thi Thom, the program aims to pay tribute to those whose research and inventions have been transferred and widely applied, while also encouraging creative movements among members and farmers to boldly think new, innovate, and apply science and technology to improve productivity, quality and value of agricultural products.

Ms. Thom hopes that these activities will contribute to strengthening the connection between the government, farmers, scientists and businesses, bringing technology closer to fields and farms. For agriculture, science, technology and digital transformation are key factors in innovating production methods, improving productivity, quality, efficiency and increasing the value of agricultural products.

This is the 7th time the program honoring "Agricultural Scientists" and the 11th time the "Agricultural Technical Creativity" Contest has been organized, with the coordination and direction of the Central Propaganda Department, Ministry of Science and Technology; Ministry of Agriculture and Environment; Vietnam Union of Science and Technology Associations.
