Volkswagen Vietnam opens orders for All New Tayron & Tiguan, priced from 1.33 billion VND

Volkswagen Vietnam has just officially opened orders for two completely new SUV models, Tiguan and Tayron, at its nationwide dealer network. Both are manufactured at the Wolfsburg factory (Germany), expected to be delivered to customers from the end of November 2026. Each car model has two versions: Style and R-Line, expected price from 1,339 to 1,939 billion VND. Tiguan and Tayron are both developed on the MQB evo platform, the latest generation of the MQB modular chassis that Volkswagen uses for most transverse engine models. However, the two car models are positioned differently. Tiguan is a 5-seat SUV, entering its third generation with comprehensive changes in design, technology and driving experience. Tayron is an SUV positioned above the Tiguan, with a larger size and a maximum configuration of 7 seats, targeting families that need more space. Volkswagen said the versions coming to Vietnam are the two most advanced versions of each car line. Customers have 9 exterior color options and 1 interior color choice.

Tiguan is Volkswagen's strategic car model, with more than 8 million units sold globally, and according to Thomas Schafer, CEO of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, since 2018 Tiguan has been the best-selling car model not only of the Volkswagen brand but of the entire Volkswagen Group.

The Tiguan's interior has been completely redesigned based on the MIB4 infotainment system. The cockpit includes an anti-glare coated digital instrument cluster, the largest 15-inch center screen with a new menu structure and graphics, a head-up display, and a multi-function knob with an integrated OLED screen. This knob is used to select driving mode, adjust volume or change interior light color. The gear lever is moved to the steering column in the style of ID models. purely electric. The driver rotates the lever forward to select D, rotates back to select R, and presses the side to activate the parking brake. All versions have gearshift paddles behind the steering wheel.

The most notable technical point is the DCC Pro chassis control system, which uses two-valve adaptive dampers. Unlike the previous generation's single-valve adjustable damper, the two-valve structure allows independent adjustment of compression and rebound forces. Thanks to that, the car can be both quiet for daily driving and more sturdy when flexible operation is needed. In addition, the new Tiguan is equipped with ergoActive seats with integrated massage and LED Plus lighting system.

Tayron will be the replacement name for the previous Tiguan Allspace with the mission of being a 7-seat SUV at an accessible price. But along with that will be significant changes in comfort and design instead of giving the feeling of just being an extended Tiguan. Tayron is 4,792 mm long, 2,791 mm wheelbase, located between Tiguan (4,539 mm) and Touareg (4,902 mm). Compared to the Tiguan, the Tayron is about 25 cm longer and has a wheelbase that is about 11 cm longer. Most of this increase is for the third row of seats and luggage compartment.

Tayron has a 10.25-inch Digital Cockpit Pro instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch (or 15-inch) central screen that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Tayron is developed and produced in Wolfsburg, with the launch of series production on Assembly Line 4 of this plant. Besides the MQB evo platform, Tayron inherits many equipment previously only available on Touareg, Volkswagen's flagship SUV model. Including the IQ.LIGHT HD matrix lamp and 10-point pneumatic massage chair.

Space is the Tayron's main advantage. In a 5-seat configuration, the luggage compartment has a capacity of 885 liters and can be expanded to a maximum of more than 2,000 liters. The wind resistance coefficient reaches 0.28, quite low for a 7-seat SUV. The interior has real wood paneling.
