Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max launched with large battery, new chip, two screens

(Dan Tri) - Xiaomi has just introduced a new generation of high-end smartphones including Xiaomi 18 Pro and Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, with some changes in configuration, battery capacity and privacy screen technology.

Xiaomi maintains the same design as the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max generations on the new product duo, with a secondary screen placed in the camera cluster on the back. This screen can be used to display content when taking photos, checking the time, viewing notifications, or running some applications.

Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max have similar designs, differing mainly in size and some hardware specifications. Xiaomi 18 Pro has a 6.4-inch main screen (2,436×1,120) and a 2.7-inch secondary screen (912×596) on the back.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi 18 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch main screen (2,624×1,208) and a 2.9-inch secondary screen (976×596). The screens all use AMOLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate.

Xiaomi 18 Pro is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip just launched by Qualcomm, while Xiaomi 18 Pro Max uses Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6.

Both versions have options of 12GB or 16GB RAM, 256GB, 512GB or 1TB internal memory. The back of the two devices includes 3 cameras, with a 200-megapixel main camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera and a 200-megapixel telephoto camera, supporting 3.2x optical zoom.

Xiaomi equips the 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max with 7,000mAh and 8,500mAh batteries, respectively, supporting charging at a maximum capacity of 100W. This is a high battery capacity level in the high-end smartphone group.

One of the notable changes on the product duo is the privacy screen, similar to the Privacy Display feature that Samsung equips on the Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The privacy screens on Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max have different setup options. Users can dim all content on the screen or apply this effect only to the interface of some applications.

For example, if the user sets the Chrome browser interface to dim, when minimizing the Chrome window on the screen, this feature only dims that window, while other areas on the screen are still displayed normally.

Privacy screens can use the front camera to detect others viewing the screen and automatically activate dimming mode. Users can also set this feature to automatically work when using the phone in public places.

According to Xiaomi, the screen dimming feature limits the ability to observe content for people looking from the left and right sides. For people looking from above or below the screen, this feature does not work.

The Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max duo will be on sale first in China, with starting prices of 5,999 yuan (about 23.2 million VND) and 6,999 yuan (about 27.1 million VND), respectively. Xiaomi said it will bring the duo of products to the international market but has not announced a specific time.
